How To Enable VoNR In 5G Phones (Jio and Airtel 5G)
Similar to how VoLTE works in 4G, there's a new technology in 5G called VoNR, which stands for Voice Over New Radio. VoNR allows voice calls to happen over 5G networks. It is a better and more dependable way of handling voice call compared to older networks like 2G, 3G, and 4G VoLTE.
How to enable VoNR in 5G phones?
To use VoNR, your phone needs to have VoNR support.
Method 1: Using a secret code
To activate VoNR, start by entering a special code in your phone dialer: *#*#8667#*#*. After that go to 'Settings,' find 'Sim card and mobile networks,' choose your sim card, and scroll down to locate the VoNR option. Turn on the VoNR option to enable it.
Method 2: Using Developer Option
First, activate the developer option on your phone. To do this, go to "About phone" and tap the MIUI version multiple times until you become a developer.
Next, go to Settings, then Additional Settings, and finally Developer options. Scroll down and find VoNr settings; enable VoNr.
Bonus Tip: Some users are facing issues making calls with VoNR, if you are also one of them then disable the VoNR and switch to VoLTE. This is because VoNr is not widely supported by many network providers at the moment in India.
